An almost 1-2 at the Belgian Grand Prix highlights both Mercedes strategic prowess and race pace in F1, but McLaren still look menacing. The Red Bulls are no longer the dominant force, but Max Verstappen will definitely have something to fight for at his home Grand Prix.
About The Netherlands

The history of the Netherlands is marked by its unique geographic setting, extensive maritime trade, and pioneering spirit in various domains. Established in the 16th century during the rebellion against Spanish rule, the region known as the Low Countries formed the Union of Utrecht in 1579, which laid the foundation for the modern Dutch state. Known for its early adoption of a republican form of government, the Netherlands became a global maritime power in the 17th century, often referred to as the Dutch Golden Age. This era was characterized by flourishing arts, science, and commerce, with the Dutch East India Company establishing trading links that spanned the globe. Despite occupations by the French and later the Germans in the 20th century, the Netherlands emerged as a prosperous and liberal nation, known for its tolerance, progressive policies, and significant contributions to international law and global diplomacy.
Circuit History

Circuit Zandvoort, nestled among the North Sea dunes of the Netherlands, has a storied history that dates back to its inception in 1948. Originally designed by John Hugenholtz, the circuit quickly became renowned for its challenging layout and unique coastal setting. It hosted its first Formula One Dutch Grand Prix in 1952, and over the decades, it became a staple in the Formula One calendar, celebrated for its high-speed corners and distinct elevation changes. After being absent from the Formula One schedule since 1985, the track underwent significant renovations to meet modern safety and racing standards, which led to its much-anticipated return to the Formula One calendar in 2021, rekindling its historic connection with top-tier motorsport amidst modern enhancements.
Track Characteristics

The current track layout of the Zandvoort Circuit is 4.259 km and the total race distance will be 306.587 km over 72 laps. The circuit is made up of 14 turns, 10 of which are right-handed turns and the other 4 are left-handed turns. The track has two DRS zones located on the start finish straight and between turns 10 & 11.

Current Standings in F1

After the Belgian Grand Prix, McLaren is slowly chipping away at Red Bull’s lead in the F1 Constructors Championship. The gap to Max Verstappen seems to be insurmountable at this point, but anything can happen in F1 and who wouldn’t like a championship decider in the final round again. Sergio Perez narrowly avoids falling another place in the standings after George Russell is disqualified, but if he doesn’t perform, George could still overtake him. Lewis is on the climb after his win in Belgium and could make some headway if his form continues.
