Lando Norris has been given full support from the McLaren pit wall to go ahead and try to win the F1 Drivers Championship. Team orders may come into play for the next two races where the Red Bull is weak and while its mathematically possible for Lando to win the title. Don’t get it wrong, Oscar Piastri is no number 2 driver, some even say he has more of a championship pedigree than Lando.

Circuit History
The Baku City Circuit, located in Azerbaijan’s capital, Baku, serves as a prominent venue for the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Track Characteristics
The current track layout of the Baku City Circuit is 6.003 km and the total race distance will be 306.049 km over 51 laps. The circuit is made up of 20 turns, 8 of which are right-handed turns and the other 12 are left-handed turns. The track has two DRS zones located on the start finish straight and between turns 2 & 3.
F1 Qualifying Results
Charles Leclerc grabs another pole with Oscar Piastri right behind him. Lando Norris goes out in Q1 qualifying in 17th. Both Williams cars make it into Q3 and Franco Colapinto qualifies in front of Alex Albon in 2nd F1 race. Max Verstappen starts in 6th which bodes well for the championship with Lando so far behind in the grid.
Tyre Compounds
The official tyre provider of Formula 1, Pirelli, has determined that the softest range of tyres are in order for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The C5 compound will be the red-walled soft tyre for this race weekend. The C4 compound will be the yellow-walled medium compound tyres. The C3 compound is the hardest of three compounds and will be the white-walled hard compound this race weekend.
Current Standings in F1
After the Italian Grand Prix, McLaren is only a few points away from overtaking Red Bull in the F1 Constructors Championship. Lando Norris really shot himself in the foot by qualifying in 17th, but the McLaren is a rocket ship and a miracle drive is what is needed from Lando. Charles is also close behind Lando in the title fight, but all eyes are on the team in papaya.
