2024 F1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix Post-Race Report

Red Bull are no longer leading the F1 Constructors Championship after Oscar Piastri’s win. The drivers title is still up for grabs, but Lando Norris needs to take advantage of every remaining race to deny Max Verstappen his 4th straight drivers title.

Charles Leclerc started on pole, but was unable to hold off Oscar Piastri for the entire race distance giving him a solid second place finish. 2 laps before the race ended, Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez were battling for the final podium position before crashing causing the race to end under safety car and taking them both out of contention. Both Williams were able to secure points after a solid race.

McLaren now leads the F1 Constructors Championship and with the current form of the car, it looks no one will take that from them. Lando Norris shrinks the gap to Max Verstappen by a few points, but he’ll need more than that to win the title. Oscar Piastri is right behind Charles Leclerc in the drivers championship. With the points haul this weekend, Williams have cut the gap to Haas and Racing Bulls significantly.
