Red Bull Racing dominates the 2024 F1 Japanese Grand Prix with Max Verstappen Securing his 3rd win of the season. Carlos Sainz Continues his podium streak while Yuki Tsunoda continues his points scoring form. Can Ferrari manage to take down Red Bull Racing?
Race Progression

Max Verstappen converted his pole position start to a race win in dominant fashion with his teammate following close behind. Following the Red Bull 1-2 finish are the Ferrari drivers. Carlos Sainz continues his podium streak in F1 having finished on the podium in every race he has entered. Yuki Tsunoda finishes in the points yet again and has been outperforming Daniel Ricciardo throughout the entirety of the current season. Both McLarens and Mercedes drivers find themselves in the top 10 as well as Fernando Alonso.
F1 Championship Standings
Red Bull Racing follows up a difficult Australian Grand Prix with a 1-2 finish in the Japanese Grand Prix to continue leading the F1 Constructors championship. Ferrari gets the best possible result to maintain a close gap to Red Bull. McLaren has extended their lead over Mercedes and Aston Martin is neck in neck with Mercedes as well. Racing Bulls find themselves scoring points thanks to multiple efforts coming from Yuki Tsunoda. Max Verstappen has a commanding lead in the drivers championship with Sergio Perez in 2nd with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz close behind.

Closing Remarks
In wrapping up our report on the F1 Japanese Grand Prix, the data visualization element remains mostly unchanged and we find it to be an effective way of communicating the data. In terms of the data analysis, the model is continuously being improved with the aim of decreasing the mean squared error to be less than 1. It is currently around 2.2 which is quite close to our goal. We are currently looking into the best way to implement the lap time prediction model on the website. I plan on releasing more updates and notes about the model as well as finding new content ideas including driver comparisons over the season during the weekends where races aren’t occuring.
